At the end of June, CMA and COSCO will jointly launch a new service "ACSA 5" connecting Asia with Mexico, Guatemala and Chile, with COSCO operating the service as "WSA5".
The new route service will call: Hong Kong-Shekou-Ningbo-Shanghai-Manzanillo (Mexico)-Cutezal-San Antonio (Chile)-Hong Kong.
The service is operated by five vessels of approximately 5,000 TEU, three by CMA and two by COSCO. CMA expects to use the 5078TUE "CMA CGM TAPON" equipped with 330 reefer plugs. And the 5090TEU "CMA CGM DOLPHIN", equipped with 400 reefer plugs, the third unconfirmed. Meanwhile, COSCO has not disclosed the vessels they will use.
The route will make its maiden voyage from Hong Kong on June 28, voyage 0CK5FE1MA. "ACSA 5" will complement the 3 other ACSA services already offered by CMA, focusing on refrigerated transport services such as fresh fruit and perishable goods.
